I live in the beautiful seaside town of Victoria, BC, Canada, known as the ‘city of gardens’.
I studied Graphic Design at the Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Vancouver, BC, and graduated in 1985. I began my career as an assistant to the Art Director and then became Art Director for Key Pacific Publishing in Victoria, BC for 5 years. I worked on layouts for many glossy full colour tourism magazines.
I took that experience over to Alston Digital Imaging, a pre-press service bureau for Fleming Printing, one of the largest sheet fed printers on Vancouver Island. For 11 years I helped clients and graphic designers smooth the transition from computer screen to printing press, so they would end up with a successful printed project.
I have since worked as an in-house graphic designer for a local distributor, pulling together a 350 page product catalogue, building a website and designing sales collateral. I began freelancing in October 2008, working on a number of design and production projects for local clients. I launched Pinnacle Website Design in October of 2009 to help businesses and organizations get setup online with stylish, functional websites.
